Calgary, Alberta - Boxxer Gold Corp. (TSXV-“BXX”) is pleased to announce that it has commenced its 2007 exploration program on the Buena Vista project located in Churchill county Nevada.
The Buena Vista Joint Venture is an Iron Oxide-Copper-Gold (IOCG) exploration project characterized by a large alteration zone (12,000 feet long by 2,300 feet wide) with at least 47 showings of copper + gold mineralization and associated hematitic “leached caps”. The large alteration zone and copper showings is interpreted to be the upper portion of an Iron Oxide-Copper-Gold hydrothermal system.
Diamond drill testing of a recently identified 1,200 feet long and up to 300 feet wide induced polarization (“IP”) anomaly has commenced with the drilling of two holes totalling 2,000 feet. The IP anomaly is interpreted to represent a flat lying zone of copper sulphide mineralization (a manto) located at the intersection of east-west and north-south trending faults in an area of oxidized copper showings and a well developed Cu-in-soil geochemical anomaly.
Trenching, mapping and additional IP surveys are also underway on the west and northeast portions of the property to test numerous showings of copper mineralization in altered strata bound volcanic units and a coincident Cu-in-soil geochemical anomaly. A budget of $300,000 has been allocated to complete the proposed exploration program.
Mr. Theodore A. DeMatties is an independent geologist consulting to Boxxer and is the Qualified Person who has reviewed and verified the technical information detailed in this release.
Nalesbitan Project:
The legal and corporate due diligence of the Nalesbitan project has been completed. It is expected that the decision regarding the exercising of the option on this project should be made by late June.
