    Boxxer Provides Project Overview and Expands Area of Copper Mineralization

    CALGARY, Alberta – Boxxer Gold Corp (TSXV – “BXX”) is pleased to announce additional channel sampling results from its 100% owned Boss copper-gold project located in the Goodsprings Mining District of southern Nevada.  The sampling outlined significant zones of copper mineralization including the following intervals:

    • 2.56% copper, 0.20% cobalt and 0.09 g/t gold over 12.60 metres, and 
    • 1.40% copper, 0.40g/t gold and 5.08 g/t silver over 18.50 metres.

    Mr. Elmer Stewart, President and CEO of Boxxer stated, “These analytical results have significantly expanded the known area of copper-gold mineralization within the Boss Project. The significant concentrations of cobalt and absence of platinum group elements is the fourth style of mineralization located to date on the project.  The multiple mineralizing events could explain the size of the skarn and widespread copper-gold mineralization in this part of the Goodsprings Mining District.”

    Project Overview:
    Over the past 12 months Boxxer has focused its exploration efforts on the copper-gold zone part of the Goodsprings Mineral District.  This exploration effort has identified the following features that support a skarn/porphyry hosted copper-gold exploration model for the Boss project.

    1. A skarn assemblage (consisting of the marble front and retrograde skarn) has been identified over a horizontal distance of 4 km and a width of up to 2 km;
    2. Extensive copper-gold mineralization is exposed in numerous old underground workings and in outcrop over the entire 4 kms strike length of the skarn;
    3. The intrusives exposed within the Goodsprings Mineral District comprise a suite of monzonitic rocks and thin, late post mineral alkali ultramafic dikes;
    4. Four chemically different styles of copper (and associated metal) mineralization has been identified;
    5. A strong arsenic-bismuth-lead-zinc-nickel-molybdenum-stibnite geochemical association with the copper-gold mineralization; and
    6. The areal extent of the copper-gold zone of the Goodsprings Mineral District is approximately 12  long and averages 3 wide.

    The above listed features from the Boss Project are all characteristic of skarn hosted copper-gold mineralization.

    Recent sampling of two news large zones of copper mineralization has expanded the area to be explored and returned preliminary analytical results, outlined below. 

    Copperside Mine:
    The copper mineralization is exposed in outcrop over an area of 25m by 50m around the portal of this zone.  The mineralization is exposed over a vertical interval of at least 25m.  Mapping of underground workings have been completed and sampling is in progress. Analytical results for the samples collected from a portion of the underground workings are listed in Table-1 below:

    The distribution of the copper mineralization within this zone is highly variable yet similar to the other 17 mineralized zones sampled to date on the Boss project.   This zone shows extensive post mineralization brecciation.   This zone contains lower gold and higher cobalt values than the other zones sampled to date which suggests a different style of mineralization possibly a separate mineralizing event. This zone exhibits a strong arsenic-bismuth-lead-zinc-nickel-molybdenum-stibnite geochemical signature. Channel sampling results are shown in Table-2:

    Boss # 10 Zone:
    This zone consists of both an Upper and Lower adit separated by a vertical interval of 8m.  Mapping of the underground workings has been completed.   Limited sampling of this zone has yielded the results listed below in Table-3:

    The copper-gold-silver-cobalt values are distinctly less in the Upper Portal than in the Lower Portal possibly due to either leaching or post-mineralization faulting.  The concentration of the metal values in the Lower Portal is consistent with some of the other zones of copper-gold mineralization sampled within the Boss project.  A significant arsenic-bismuth-lead-zinc-nickel-stibnite geochemical signature occurs with the mineralization.     Future Plans:
    Concurrent with Phase II of the diamond drilling planned for the Boss Extension, systematic sampling of the balance of the underground workings of the Copperside mine and the Boss #10 Zone is planned.  Sampling of the Ironside Northeast zone, detailed prospecting, mapping and more systematic sampling of the large copper-gold bedrock anomalies is planned.

    Sample Preparation and Analysis:
    All channel samples were collected with a hammer and chisel and represent continuous sampling of the material within the sample interval. Sample weights ranged from 1.3 to 9.6 kilograms and sample intervals ranged from 0.4 to 7.0 metres.  All samples were prepared ALS Chemex laboratory in Winnemucca, Nevada and were analyzed by ALS Chemex in Vancouver, British Columbia using PGM-ICP 23 for gold, platinum and palladium and ME-ICP41 for silver and copper and other metals. ALS Chemex’s quality system complies with the requirements for the International Standards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025:1999. Analytical accuracy and precision are monitored by the use of international and in-house standards.

    Quality Control:
    Boxxer follows a rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control program consisting of inserting blanks and duplicates into the sample stream submitted to the laboratory for analysis.
